The study aimed to identify the conditions in urban systems that facilitate or undermine good water and sanitation service delivery for adolescents and young people (AYP) in a sub-Saharan city by harnessing pre-existing data from a current British Academy study on urban infrastructure and WASH, urban systems theory, multi-disciplinary analytic expertise, local governance of water and sanitation, political windows of opportunity and the expectations, energy and excitement of AYP.
